Fall Food Plot Seed

Clover + Chicory $45.30-$74.20

  • 5 lb Bag = 1/2 Acre      10 lb Bag = 1 Acre

RWWP Clover and Chicory contains only the very best varieties found in our test plots. We started by planting every clover variety we could find side-by-side  and letting the deer tell us which ones they preferred. Chicory makes a great companion crop with clover and makes up 3% of the total blend. Chicory is packed with protein and drought hardy. The particular variety of chicory we use was the most attractive variety in our testing. Clover produces tons of forage throughout the year and is a staple for the serious land manger looking to produce the most forage he can for his herd. This blend is also great for fire breaks, access lanes, logging roads, and slightly shaded small plots that can be maintained through mowing.

In 2017 Real World President, Don Higgins, accidentally discovered a specific variety of perennial red clover. Deer were leaving his highly managed whitetail mecca to browse in a neighbor’s hay field. Real World did some digging to find out which variety it was and then had our field testers across the country test the variety for themselves. After seeing similar results we added it to our clover & chicory blend. We already felt that RWWP Clover & Chicory could hold its own against anything on the market but now we have made it even better.

As with all Real World products, there are no cheap filler seeds in this blend. We only use perennial clover where most companies mix in annuals. Real World Clover and Chicory goes through multiple tests to ensure we are using the varieties that the deer prefer. We challenge you to plant this blend next to any other clover blend on the market.

  • Planting Date – Clover & Chicory can be planted in either the spring or fall or frost-seeded in late winter. For spring plantings, the earlier the better as the goal is to get the plants well established before the weather turns hot and dry. Fall-plantings are best done in late August to early September across much of the United States with the goal being to get the plants well established before freezing weather sets in for the winter. Frost-seeding needs to be done late in the winter when there is still freezing temperatures to help work the seed into the soil.

Site Prep & Planting  – Start by spraying your plot to kill any vegetation. When it is time to plant prepare a good seedbed by disking or tilling the ground so that it is primarily free of bigger dirt-clods. Then use a culti-packer or roller to firm the seed bed. Next broadcast the seed onto the plot. Finish by rolling or culti-packing the plot again to push the seed firmly into the soil. Clover and chicory seed is very small and does not need to be buried into the soil.

Frost-seeding is done by simply broadcasting the seed onto a plot that was prepared the previous fall. This can be done on frozen ground or even on snow-covered ground. The key is that the plot was prepared for frost-seeding the previous fall. We have had fantastic results planting a plot in Real Worlds Whitetail Forage Oats or Plot Topper in the fall and then frost seeding clover & chicory into the oat plot in late winter.  This may require a few mowing to keep the other vegetation down as the clover & chicory becomes established.

Note – Clover & Chicory is a great crop to plant in 10’-20’ wide firebreaks around the edge of warm-season native grass plots. This helps to contain the fire when these grass plots are burned while also serving as a foodplot and travel corridor for deer bedding in the grasses.

Harvest Salad Blend $37.60-$61.80

  • Real World’s “Whitetail Harvest Salad” has been a fan favorite for years because it is easy to grow and extremely attractive. This blend contains three cereal grains and Austrian Winter Peas. The variety of Austrian Winter Peas we use is extremely winter hardy. The deer will hammer the cereal grains when weather conditions have deer going to green food sources. Don’t be misled by other brands that mix annuals and perennials in their fall-planted seed blends or market no-till products. Harvest Salad comes in a 25 lb. bag which is enough to plant 1/2 acre or a 50 lb. bag to plant one acre.

    The “Deadly Dozen”

50 lb. Harvest Salad + 3 lb. jug Plot Topper = 1 Acre Deadly Dozen

When Harvest Salad and Plot Topper are combined it gives you 12 plant species in the same plot. We call it the “Deadly Dozen”. With this combination there will always be multiple plants within the plot that are highly palatable to the deer from the time it first germinates until the following spring. Some of the plants will really draw the deer in early, other plants will attract during the late fall and still others will become more attractive during the late season after there has been a hard freeze.

  • Planting Date – Harvest salad is a fall-planted product. A good general rule to remember in regards to planting dates is as follows – Along Interstate-70 plant Harvest Salad September 1st. For every 100 miles north of I-70 move the planting date up sooner by 1 week. For every 100 miles south of I-70 move the planting date back later by 1 week. It is very important not to plant Harvest Salad too early or it will lose some of its palatability by the time hunting season opens and you want the deer to be hitting it hardest.

Site Prep – Start by spraying your plot in the spring to kill any vegetation. When it is time to plant prepare a good seedbed by disking or tilling the ground so that it is primarily free of bigger dirt-clods. The soil does not need to be worked into a power-fine consistency but just free of large clods.

Planting – Due to the different sizes of seed within the Harvest Salad blend, broadcasting the seed is the only good way to plant it. After broadcasting the seed onto the worked ground, cover it by dragging the plot or using a culti-packer to push the seed into the ground. The goal is to get the seed covered with ½ -1 inch of soil. Make sure the seed is not more than 1 inch deep. If some of the seed is exposed on top of the ground, it can still grow as long as it gets adequate moisture.

Note – Here at Real World Wildlife products our favorite fall-planted food-plot is Harvest Salad combined with Plot Topper.  This combination gives you 9 different plants in a single plot. When combining these 2 products in the same plot simply follow the instructions above to plant the Harvest Salad and when you are done just broadcast the Plot Topper over the plot without working that seed into the soil. It is that simple!

Deadly Dozen- $32.00

  • Real World Wildlife Products has combined our two most popular fall-planted products into one and the results are … DEADLY! For several years our customers have planted both Harvest Salad and Plot Topper in the same plot with excellent results. Deer flock to these plots from the time the plot germinates, through the entire hunting season and well into the following spring. We took the hint and have combined these two popular products into a convenient ¼ acre bag, the perfect size for those small kill-plots.

Deadly Dozen includes Winter Hardy Oats, Winter Wheat, Winter Barley, Austrian Winter Peas, Tillage Radish, Purple Top Turnips, Rape Plus, Sugar Beets, Forage Collards, Impact Forage Collards, Crimson Clover and Oil Seed Radish.

Deadly Dozen is only sold in ¼ acre bags. If you have larger plots you can simply buy Real Worlds Harvest Salad and Plot Topper and plant them in the same plot at the same time.

50 lb. bag Harvest Salad + 3 lb. bag Plot Topper = 1 Acre Deadly Dozen

  • Planting Date – Deadly Dozen is a fall-planted product, typically planted in August or early September depending on geography. The farther north you are, the earlier you want to plant. It is important not to plant Deadly Dozen too early or it will lose some of its palatability by the time hunting season opens and you want the deer to be hitting it hardest.

Site Prep – Start by spraying your plot to kill any vegetation. When it is time to plant, prepare a good seedbed by disking or tilling the ground so that it is primarily free of bigger dirt-clods. The soil does not need to be worked into a powder-fine consistency but just free of large clods.

Planting – Due to the different sizes of seed within Deadly Dozen, it is typically broadcasted. After broadcasting the seed onto the worked ground, cover it by dragging the plot or using a culti-packer to push the seed into the ground. The goal is to get the seed covered with ½-1 inch of soil. Make sure the seed is not any deeper. If some of the seed is exposed on top of the ground, it can still grow as long as it gets adequate moisture.  Mix the contents of the bag before putting into your seeder.   It is important to have good distribution of your brassica seeds.    Planting this product to thick will minimize its production and ability to mature.   It is better to plant this product too thin than too thick.

Herbicide – All weed control must be done prior to planting.   There is no herbicide that will work on this mix after it has germinated.  If planted correctly at the right time, with weed control done prior to planting, this product will fill in and weeds will be kept under control

Note – Always take a soil test and fertilize accordingly.

For planting Deadly Dozen in larger plots, you can mix Harvest Salad and Plot Topper on your own.

50# Harvest Salad + 3# Plot Topper = One Acre Deadly Dozen

Plot Topper- $30.90

  • We came up with this unique blend which includes purple top turnips, oil-seed radish, tillage radish, rape, sugar beets, forage collards, crimson clover and impact forage collards after years of side by side testing. The result is a product that will have deer tearing at the foliage and bulbs as hard as any brassica mixture on the market. We have noticed that some deer tend to hit brassicas harder and quicker than others. Plot Topper can be planted alone or planted in the same plot with our Whitetail Oats, Harvest Salad, or broadcasted into standing corn or soybeans as the leaves turn yellow. If you want big bucks on big brassica bulbs, try out Plot Topper.

    The “Deadly Dozen”
50 lbs Harvest Salad + 3 lb bag Plot Topper = 1 Acre Deadly Dozen

When Harvest Salad and Plot Topper are combined it gives you 12 plant species in the same plot. We call it the “Deadly Dozen”. With this combination there will always be multiple plants within the plot that are highly palatable to the deer from the time it first germinates until the following spring. The soil does not need to be worked into a power-fine consistency but just free of large clods.

Planting – Plot Topper is a very easy crop to grow and is planted by broadcasting. It is very important to not plant Plot Topper too thick or the plants will be stunted and not produce bulbs on the turnips, radishes and sugar beets. It is much better to plant Plot Topper too light than too heavy. After broadcasting the seed onto the worked ground, use a culti-packer or roller to push the seed into the ground. If a culti-packer or roller is not available the seed will do fine by just leaving it as rain will work it into the soil enough to get good germination.

Notes – Plot Topper is a great product to combine with Harvest Salad or oats to provide a wider variety of plants in the same plot. Plot Topper is also great for over-seeding soybean plots once the leaves on the soybean plants have started to turn yellow.

Dixie Dozen- $33.40

  • We have been and continue to work with several large-scale land managers in Mississippi, Georgia, Florida and North Carolina on a southern-specific seed blend.  This southern blend contains 12 plant species for season-long attraction and was designed to also green-up in the spring to create a killer turkey plot.

    Blend Includes:

    ARROWLEAF CLOVER

    BERSEEM CLOVER

    CRIMSON CLOVER

    TROPHY RAPE

    IMPACT FORAGE COLLARDS

    ECO-TILL RADISH

    SUGAR BEETS

    WINTER WHEAT

    WINTER HARDY OATS

    WINTER BARLEY

    SOYBEANS

  • Planting Date – Dixie Dozen is a fall-planted product, typically planted in September depending on geography. The farther south you are, the later you want to plant. It is important not to plant this product too early or it will lose some of its palatability by the time hunting season opens and you want the deer to be hitting it hardest.

Site Prep – Start by spraying your plot to kill any vegetation. When it is time to plant, prepare a good seedbed by disking or tilling the ground so that it is primarily free of bigger dirt-clods. The soil does not need to be worked into a powder-fine consistency but just free of large clods.

Forage Oat Blend- $39.80

  • Some food plot seed companies claim that their oats are the best on the market and have been developed after years of continual research. Real World prefers to educate you with simple truths. We have planted our Whitetail Forage Oats right next to the other oats on the market and could not tell a bit of difference at any point in the testing and neither could the deer feeding in those side-by-side plots. We are pretty confident that most of the oats being sold to whitetail food-plotters are all the same. The difference is in price. When comparing oats be sure to note the quantity in each bag. Keep in mind that these winter hardy oats are not the same as typical “spring oats” commonly sold in local feed and seed stores.

Real Worlds Whitetail Forage Oats come in 50# bags, enough to plant one acre when top-dressed with another product such as Plot Topper. If planting a pure stand of Whitetail Forage Oats, use at least 50# per acre.

  • Planting Date – Real Worlds Whitetail Forage Oats are a fall-planted product. A good general rule to remember in regards to planting dates is as follows – Along Interstate-70 plant Harvest salad September 1st. For every 100 miles north of I-70 move the planting date up sooner by 1 week. For every 100 miles south of I-70 move the planting date later by 1 week. It is very important not to plant Real World Oats too early or it will lose some of its palatability by the time hunting season opens and you want the deer to be hitting it hardest.

Planting – Oats are a very easy crop to grow and generally do very well when planted by broadcasting. After broadcasting the seed onto the worked ground, cover it by dragging the plot or using a culti-packer to push the seed into the ground. The goal is to get the seed covered with ½ -1 inch of soil. Make sure the seed is not more than 1 inch deep. If some of the seed is exposed on top of the ground, it will still grow as long as it gets adequate moisture.

Note – To add more drawing power to your oat plots, over-seed it with Plot Topper. Simply broadcast the Plot Topper seed over your oat plot once it has been planted.

Spring Food Plot Seed

Generation 2 Soybean Blend $69.00

  • Real Worlds new “Generation-2” soybeans is a blend of 4 different soybean varieties with maturities ranging from 4.0 to 5.4 and are better for wildlife food plots than other soybeans for these reasons
-They produce a tremendous amount of forage and grain to feed your deer throughout the entire hunting season. Forage soybeans often die and provide nothing after the first frost.
    – They are shatter resistant, meaning the soybean grain will stay within the pods where deer can readily consume it.
    – They are higher in oil content than most other soybean varieties. High-oil soybeans are more attractive to hungry whitetails and provide higher levels of important nutrients.

  • Planting Date – Plant soybeans after the soil temperature has reached 60-degrees. Planting too early can result in poor germination rates and planting too late will have a negative impact on forage and grain production. For most of the country the ideal planting time will be during the month of May through June. If farmers in your area plant soybeans watch when they are planting their fields and plant your plots a week or two later. This will encourage the local deer to start feeding in the farmers soybean fields first and better allow your smaller soybean plots to become established without excessive deer browsing pressure.

Site Prep – Start by spraying your soybean plots in the spring to kill any vegetation. When it is time to plant prepare a good seedbed by disking or tilling the ground so that it is primarily free of bigger dirt-clods. The soil does not need to be worked into a power-fine consistency but just free of large clods.

Planting – Soybeans are very easy to grow and can be planted several ways. The goal is to get the seed covered with about 1-inch of soil. If you have a planter or grain-drill, that is fantastic. If not, you can broadcast the soybean seed and then cover it by dragging the plot or disking it very lightly. Make sure the seed is not more than 1 ½ inches deep. If some of the seed is exposed on top of the ground, it can still grow as long as it gets adequate moisture.

Maintenance – Weed control is the most important thing for achieving a good soybean food plot. This ALWAYS starts with the application of a good pre-emergent (residual) herbicide onto a totally weed free plot! Apply the preemergent herbicide either right before or right after planting (before the soybeans germinate). Real World Wildlife Products sells a quality pre-emergent herbicide for soybeans that is compatible with the soybean seeds we sell.

An application of a pre-emergent herbicide will keep your plot free of weeds for a period of time. This varies by a number of factors such as soil types and weather patterns. Eventually the pre-emergent herbicide will wear off and weeds will start to appear in your plot. When this happens, it is important to spray these weeds as early as possible. Spraying 3″ tall weeds is better than waiting until they are 6″ tall. Bigger weeds become much harder to kill.  BE CAREFUL WHAT HERBICIDE YOU SPRAY ON YOUR SOYBEANS! Real World Generation-2 soybeans (both regular and northern blends) are “glyphosate tolerant”, meaning glyphosate herbicides will not kill them. You can buy glyphosate from Real World Wildlife Products. Warning – some glyphosate products also contain other chemicals that will kill your soybeans. Make sure you spray a herbicide that contains only glyphosate only!

Notes – Soybeans have a unique ability to grow within the space they are provided. If your soybean stand is sparse, each plant will have more room to bush-out and grow taller. If the plants are crowded, they will not get as tall and produce as much grain per plant.

You can add to the drawing power of your soybean plot by over-seeding Real Worlds Plot Topper into the plot once the soybean plants start turning yellow. Do not try to over-seed in soybeans that are still green, or germination rates will be very poor.

Nutri-Crave Corn Seed $133.90-$295.00

  • The 1 Acre Bag – 26,666 kernel

    The 3 Acre Bag – 80,000 kernel

To determine which maturity to plant, check with your local ag producer or follow this generalization:  along and north of Interstate 80, plant 100 day; south of Interstate 80, plant 112 day.

In our 2020 test plots Nutri-Crave 109-day corn had 11.12% protein and 12.97% fat. Corn from a nearby ag field tested at 6.86% protein and 3.86% fat. Real Worlds Nutri-Crave corn also had better figures for phosphorus, magnesium, potassium, sulfur, zinc, iron and manganese. Another huge advantage is in total calories where Nutri-Crave corn has significantly more calories than the same volume of typical field corn. Just imagine what this means to deer feeding on Nutri-Crave corn during the winter! Most importantly, deer showed a very strong preference to Nutri-Crave corn compared to all other varieties tested.

Real Worlds Nutri-Crave corn is non-GMO, at this time, we do not offer this in Roundup Ready variety.  If you grow corn in your food-plots or for livestock feed, you really need to try Nutri-Crave corn!

  • Corn requires more attention to detail than some other food-plot crops but can easily be grown by following a few instructions. Here are some tips to help your Nutri-Crave Corn plot be a success.

    – Plant when soil temperatures reach 60 degrees

    – It is important to start with a well worked and totally weed-free seed bed.

    – The ideal seed planting rate for 1 acre of Nutri-Crave Corn is 26,500 seeds per acre. This allows for maximum grain production. Ideal spacing is obtained by planting on 30″ rows with 6″ to 8″ spacing between plants within each row. Seeds should be planted 2″ deep. Broadcasting seeds is NOT recommended.

    – Weed control is very important! Residual (pre-emergent) herbicides are highly recommended for the success of this product. Please consult with your local ag chemical dealer for the best recommendations for your region. 2-4D herbicide can be sprayed over the top of growing corn to control broadleaf weeds only. 2-4D will not kill grasses such as foxtail.

    – Soil fertility and proper pH is more critical with corn than any other food plot crops. Corn requires adequate nutrition to reach its full potential of yield and nutritional benefits for the animal. Corn typically requires more nitrogen than other food plot crops. Start with a soil test and then consult with your local fertilizer dealer.

    – Nutri-Crave corn is treated with a fungicide for early season disease pressure offering 30-40 days of protection to get your plot off to a great start.

Feed, Mineral, & Nutrition

Nutri-Crave Deer Block- $19.99

  • Real World Wildlife Products’ new Nutri-Crave Deer Blocks are unlike any other deer block on the market. When we started the development process, we wanted a block that would achieve three main targets –

    • a block that was more attractive to deer than any other block

    • a block that offered more health benefits than any other block

    • a block that does more to promote antler growth than any other block

To achieve these goals, we included our Nutri-Crave corn for attraction, our exclusive Expect Healthy Deer Technology for herd health and our Maximizer Plus deer mineral for antler growth. The result is an easy-to-use product to help serious land managers provide key nutrients deer need.

Nutri-Crave Corn- $14.99

  • Real World Wildlife Products Nutri-Crave Deer corn is a cross between our popular Nutri-Crave food plot corn and a high protein hybrid red corn. This cross-pollinated corn is higher in protein than both the Nutri-Crave Corn and the hybrid red corn while maintaining the high fat levels of the Nutri-Crave Corn

  • Directions – provide deer with all of the Nutri-Crave Deer Corn feed that they want to consume. For best results use a gravity feeder or feed trough although a spin feeder can also be used or feed can simply be poured on the ground. Place feeders next to heavy cover where deer are likely to find it quickly. For best results provide feed to deer year-round.

Maximizer Plus Deer Mineral- $54.00

  • Real World’s Maximizer Plus Deer Mineral is exactly the same as our Maximizer but it also includes Real Worlds exclusive Expect Healthy Deer Technology®.

Maximizer deer mineral was developed after more than 20 years of extensive research with both captive whitetails as well as wild deer. Unlike other salt-dominated products which offer very little nutritional benefit to deer, Maximizer Deer Mineral is specifically formulated with over 20 micro and macro-nutrients; many in precise proportion to each other.

The specific nutrient formulation found in Maximizer has been directly responsible for the growth of numerous captive bucks scoring more than 300” and countless bucks scoring more than 200” at just two years old.By providing the deer on your property with adequate year-round access to Maximizer Deer Mineral, you are giving the bucks the very best opportunity to develop antlers to their full genetic potential while also helping the does raise vigorous healthy fawns.

Most deer mineral products on the market WILL attract deer. The difference with Real World Maximizer Mineral is that it can also help support your deer herd’s health, antler growth and fawn production while also drawing them in for your trail camera. Why settle for JUST an attractant when you can support antler growth, fawn production and herd health at the same time?

Frost-To create a mineral lick – Pour 20-40# of Maximizer Deer Mineral on the ground in a pile where deer frequent, preferably close to water but not in an area that floods. Refresh each mineral site with an additional 5-10# of Maximizer every 30 days starting in early spring throughout the summer. For best results start putting out Maximizer in late winter, several weeks before bucks start growing new antlers and does give birth to fawns. Make at least one mineral lick for every 40 acres

Note – During certain times of the year, specifically fall and winter, deer will consume very little mineral. If you put Maximizer out at this time and deer do not start hitting it right away, don’t be alarmed. If there are deer in the area they will find it and start consuming it when they need it. In late winter or early spring consumption will start to increase. By late spring deer will be hitting mineral licks very hard as bucks are growing new antlers and does are nursing fawns.
